Colour By The Wall

In June for 28 days, I dressed Penny in at least one item of Rock Your Baby clothing. Some days we doubled up, some days she only wore the item for three and a half minutes.... (We are still working on the entire bowl of porridge reaching her tummy through that little chatting-always-moving mouth!)

Our BFFs in Sydney did the challenge for the second time, and little Florrie looked just beautiful, as always, every day! It was great to see the two girls wearing loads of the same clothes, but styled differently by two mums, and during two different seasons (even if winter in Sydney isn't too much cooler than summer in Dublin!)

We absolutely love Rock Your Baby and are so excited knowing that their next season is on its way to being released within the next 6 weeks or so. We buy most of our items in Mira Mira, a gorgeous little shop in Sandymount, Dubin, that, if you are close by, you should visit, as soon as possible!

This week we launched our #colourbythewall challenge. The idea is that for three days in a row, we'll focus on one colour, creating a pretty instagram feed, while teaching Penny her colours, through her clothes, things we do, and the world around her.

As YELLOW is absolutely her favourite colour at the moment, we started with that!

As with any two year old, who is busy busy busy, but has a limited attention span, our day is filled with many activities. We jump from one thing to another. Three days in, I have to say, the challenge has helped to focus what we do. We baked yellow cakes (which were disappointingly not lemon flavoured as I forgot to get lemons...on yellow day, fail!!), did lots of yellow crafts, ate yellow food, and picked out yellow things on our walks. Yesterday I asked her what she wanted me to make, and she said 'a bag'.... so I made a yellow felt bag. It is already full of the most random stuff.

Sticking and gluing...there is no end result photo, as pulling off what has been stuck on is all part of the fun
Searching for some yellow flowers
Ice pop time
Unfinished but dearly (geddit?!) loved felt bag I made for Penn

Heart paper garland for wall photoshoots
A selection of yellow toys
Yellow books for story time, and Penn's favourite jellycat toy

Getting dressed every morning has been very easy, as there haven't been as many options, with only one colour to choose from. Penny had Hootkid, No Added Sugar and Little Bird by Jools dresses to wear. I don't think I could choose a favourite!
